How is bone broth cooked?

Bone broth is slowly cooked by simmering animal bones with water, a splash of apple cider vinegar, and sometimes herbs or vegetables. The result is a savoury, nutrient-rich broth packed with goodness - and, most importantly, it’s irresistible to most dogs.

Can I feed bone broth as a drink?

Absolutely! Feeding bone broth as a drink is a fantastic way to improve your dog’s hydration, particularly if you struggle to encourage them to drink water. We recommend heating their bone broth slightly to release all the wonderful aromas. Prepare for drooling!

How do I feed bone broth with my dog’s food?

If your dog would like a little extra moisture in their meals, you can pour a serving of bone broth straight into their bowl. This can be a helpful addition if you have a senior dog who needs a softer food that’s easier to chew than dry kibble.

Is bone broth good for fussy pups?

It’s no surprise that dogs are driven by their sense of smell, so the rich, meaty aroma of bone broths can stimulate the appetite of even the fussiest of dogs. A splash of warm broth poured over their food can make even the most reluctant eater perk up and investigate their bowl.

“For some fussy dogs, meal anxiety can play a part in their reluctance to eat. Adding something delicious like bone broth can turn meals into a positive experience, creating anticipation and routine around feeding times.” Diane, in-house behaviourist.

Is bone broth good for dogs’ health

Bone broth has many benefits aside from encouraging fussy pups to eat. Our brand new Chicken Bone Broth is loaded with naturally occurring nutrients and minerals like collagen, gelatin, glucosamine, amino acids, and minerals like calcium and magnesium. These are fantastic for your dog’s joint and gut health and overall vitality, helping your dog feel their happiest and healthiest!

My dog has a sensitive stomach. Can they drink bone broth?

Yes, bone broth is suitable for sensitive stomachs as it’s gentle on the digestive system. It’s a light, hydrating way to encourage eating without overwhelming their system.

What bone broth should I choose?

As with your dog’s main diet, it’s a personal choice. We recommend trying our new mouth-watering Chicken Bone Broth, which is available to add to your next box now. It’s gently simmered from locally sourced chicken bones and enhanced with filtered water and apple cider vinegar. This wholesome, natural broth is designed to support your dog’s health, digestion and overall vitality, whilst boosting hydration. If Chicken isn’t your dog’s thing, why not try our Venison or Lamb Bone Broths? All of our broths are made from British bones, so you have the reassurance that they’re up to British food safety and welfare standards.
